BOTH OFFICIAL HD ‘Man Of Steel’ Teaser Trailers

I know we don’t see much and that’s OK, it’s a teaser. And that’s what it did TEASE. I think it’s perfect, powerful.

*this one is the Russell Crowe voice over. Top one is Kevin Costner*

Four NEW Clips From ‘The Bourne Legacy’

I guess the '”give away the movie in clips prior to it’s release” trend is NOT going away.

'Supernatural' Ben Edlund on Season 8 SPOILERS

Dean on the beach!? Slightly hilarious, can’t wait to see that.

After seeing the ‘Supernatural’ panel at Comic Con this year, I’m not sure that I have high hopes for this season. They keep saying they are breaking away from the heavy religious mythology. I think that’s a mistake. Seasons 3,4,5 were the best seasons and had LOTS of mythology. Crossing my fingers it will be good, but not holding my breath…afraid ‘Supernatural’ jumped the shark.

LQ ‘Man of Steel’ Trailer

Saw this trailer in front of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ (no I did not record this). It’s MUCH better in HQ on the big screen. I.Can.Not.Wait. for ‘Man of Steel’…I am ALL about Superman.

Will 'Thor: The Dark World' Be Bringing Dark Elves to Asgard Next?

thordarkworld-malekith-combo-tsr

This is from firstshowing.net

Sadly, Casino Royale bad guy Mads Mikkelsen has stepped out of the villain role in Thor: The Dark World (which is the sequel title we learned at Comic-Con last weekend). Of course, we can only be so disappointed since we never learned just what villain the actor would be playing. However, today we might have a thread leading us to figuring out that mystery. Stuntman James Grogan was recently interviewed by a site called I Review Too (via ComingSoon), and he talked about working on the Thor sequel, along with a certain bit of direction that "Game of Thrones" helmer Alan Taylor gave him and the stuntmen. Read on!

Grogan told the website:

"This is quite random but I was working on Thor 2. I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said ‘Look, we want you all to be elves,’ and I was like ‘What the hell is an elf anyway?’ and he said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals.’ Honestly it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it.”

Now if we take that bit of information along with the fact that the film is called Thor: The Dark World, I think it's safe to say that Dark Elves will be encountered in the sequel. That assumption also gives us a hint as to who the villain might be. The leader of the Dark Elves is a bad dude named Malekith The Accursed, and he even strikes up an alliance with Loki on behalf of the fire demon Surtur, but we're not sure if the latter character will be a part of the story. In the comics, Malekith also has a plotline involving getting ahold of the Casket of Ancient Winters and releasing a terrible winter all over Earth. Unless they plan on using that device again (as it already appeared in the first film), I'm betting we won't see that storyline in the sequel, especially since it just happened on the animated series "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

Still, the villain would be a formidable enemy for Thor as he has the ability to manipulate the forces of magic for a variety of effects, including teleportation, energy projection, physical malleability, flight (by transforming into mist) illusion casting, and the ability to change the shape and appearance of other beings or objects. In addition, he has the standard bonuses of superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, and reflexes, like pretty much every hero and villain in comic books. Malekith also has the Dark Elves Bitterhand, Wormwood, and Grendell at his disposal, and in the comics, they try to destroy Thor on several occasions, including once while Mjolnir was being reforged. It would be interesting to see how Thor fares in battle without his hammer.

At this point it's hard to say where the story will go, but I think it's safe to assume that Malekith and the Dark Elves will be a force to be reckoned with in Thor: The Dark World, but since the film is slated to shoot this fall, we should have a solid cast rounded up to join returning members Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgard, Anthony Hopkins and new cast members like Zachary Levi.
