The nominations came out this morning and as always there’s surprises. Here are some of MY thoughts as the announcements were made.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
DEMIÁN BICHIR / Carlos Galindo - “A BETTER LIFE” (Summit Entertainment) – YAY!! I support Chris Weitz so I’m excited for this.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role
JONAH HILL / Peter Brand - "MONEYBALL" (Columbia Pictures) – REALLY?! Nothing against Jonah HIll just surprised to see the nom.
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role
MELISSA McCARTHY / Megan - “BRIDESMAIDS” (Universal Pictures) – The ONLY good thing in this movie (yep I said it!)
Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
BRIDESMAIDS (Universal Pictures) – WHY!!? This movie was SO overrated. It was like a LONG SNL skit. I don’t think I laughed once. I do realize I am in the minority in this so feel free to disagree. On the other hand I’m glad to see a Comedy nominated.
MIDNIGHT IN PARIS (Sony Pictures Classics) – Hmmm…surprised because it was kind of boring NOT surprised because it’s Woody Allen.
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series
JESSICA LANGE / Constance - “AMERICAN HORROR STORY” (FX) – YES!!

TV Guide confirmed the news today:
It’s official: Christopher Meloni has joined the cast of True Blood for Season 5, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Meloni is slated to portray “an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill [Stephen Moyer] and Eric [Alexander Skarsgard] in his hands,” executive producer Alan Ball tells TVLine.com, who first reported the news.
Do you think he can pull off an ancient vamp? I say sure why not, he played a creep in ‘OZ’ so I’m sure he can handle a vamp.
I swear this show is beyond crazy BUT I LOVE IT!!
1. Get ready for a ghost summit! Those trapped in Murder House will want to attend the coming of whatever is coming out of Viv. Dr. Charles will do the honors (yikes!), and many others will look on. Will any potential baby-snatchers (ahem, Hayden, Nora) be present?
2. The return of the redheads. The slain redheaded twins who bought the farm way back in the first episode will pop back into the Harmons' lives -- the scripts refer to them "The Mischief Twins" -- and they'll be doing their destructive best to keep the Harmons in the house!

She still has the Lisbeth Salander vibe, but looks AMAZING!!!
I get the look Daniel is going for but it’s not working.

Ain’t It Cool saw ‘The Hobbit’ trailer – here’s their description:
Yes, we saw THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY trailer thanks to Gandalf The Grey magically transporting Quint from the beautiful landscapes of Middle-Earth to the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas. No, I can’t talk about any specifics except to say that something I always treasured from the original book is in the trailer in a big way and I was very happy to hear it. The trailer will play in front of THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN and it’s simply sublime. It’s more character-based than epic, but it’s like slipping into a warm embrace from a very old friend that you haven’t seen in many years. Truly wonderful.
Last week I spoke with Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, about those rumors that a major character on the AMC TV adaptation of his Image comic will die in the second half of this, the show's second season. Find out what Kirkman says viewers should expect from the series when it returns in February – as well as his next comics projects and a hint of what's in store for Walking Dead fans at next year's Comic-Con – after the jump.
Spoilers after the break.
